My name is Todd Childers, and I have the privilege of being an instructor and teacher at John 3:16 Ministries. Unfortunately, the road that led me to this point was not a smooth one. At the age of twenty-one, an addiction to drugs and alcohol landed me all the way to rock bottom. I was told about John 3:16 by another graduate who highly recommended it. I was bless to enter the program on May 20, 2007. I didn’t really know what I needed or wanted, but quickly found that the bible had all the answers to those questions. I made Jesus, Lord and Savior of my life on June 7, 2007. At the time, the change seemed gradual but looking back, nothing has ever been the same. Jesus has truly made all the difference. I graduated 8 months later and did well for two years, but I felt there was something definitely missing. That’s when I was asked to come back to John 3:16 as a teacher, two days a week. This was exactly what my heart desired, to help other men get what I was so freely given. At this same time God brought my wife, Miranda and her two beautiful daughters Rileigh and Addie, into the picture and we married shortly after. God blessed us exceedingly abundantly for the next 5 years. I was teaching two days a week and working for a supporter of the ministry the other days. Life was good but there was something that still convicted me when reading verses of being completely sold out. It was if I was only interested in what Christ could do for me, He was interested in what I can do for Him. Finally, I felt that conviction for the last time and asked to become an instructor. Today, I still teach classes on Tuesday and Wednesday and serve in our print-shop the other days. My wife and I started “Fit To Be Tied”, a couples ministry for the men of the ministry and their wives. I’m a very blessed man however what means most is that everyday I’m motivated by what I can do for Him, since He has done so much for me.
